BAR ESPAÑA, PALMA.

Fantastic tasting food and top value menu

The wonderful tapas bar that is Bar España now has its own restaurant as well. Tucked away just off one of the main streets of Palma, behind Plaza Major, sits this wonderful tapas bar and now separate restaurant. We visited for lunch and had some extremely tasty food - 3 courses with a drink for just 12.50€ each.

For starters we both had wonderful empanadas (pies), one lamb filled, one fish filled with melt in the mouth pastry, followed by a belly of pork that was just sublime and a vegetarian cous cous salad and finished with yet another sweet pastry stuffed with pumpkin jam (Caballo de Angels) and a fruit salad in red tea.

The selection of wine by the glass is always good here as is their draft beer (caña), served with the proper head. I can't recommend this place enough either for their superb selection of tapas in the evenings or their wonderful great value daytime menu.
Go try!

Despite its central location it still remains a hidden gem of the city, find it at Escursac 12, Palma de Mallorca.
(Just off Placa Major - take the small street beside the Capuccino sandwich bar on carrer de Colom and then 1st left)
